He is a great player but his $20/year prevents acquisition or retention of other great players. We lost another first and a second round pick for Julio that could have turned into Pro Bowl or Hall of Fame players who could still be playing on the team as well. I like Julio real well but putting that much resource into a WR, has seldom succeeded in getting anyone a Super Bowl win. Julio, Vic Beasley and Devante Freeman are sucking up a LOT of cap space that could be used to enhance this team.Collectively, the consume 20% of this 53 man payroll.We are likely to lose a Pro Bowl TE who has been growing and contributing more annually because of this… If not him, we will lose others.

I’ll start off by saying i don’t think it was a 49-46 fight, but was his scoring that hard to understand?
One judge gave rounds 2,4 and 5 to Jones, the other one gave 3,4 and 5 to Jones.
Just looking at those score cards it’s clear that everybody agreed 1 was clearly for Reyes and 4, 5 were clearly for Jones.
That leaves 2 and 3 that were close in the judges eyes they gave them 1 round each.
So is it so hard to think that that one judge just swayed twice towards Jones? Both the other Judges already rewarded Jones one of these rounds.
All you can conclude from this is that all 3 judges had a hard time scoring rounds 2 and 3.

Fuller is a starting caliber slot only. Breeland is a backup player. Jones would be a loss but ultimately the DT position can be pieced together, even replacing great ones like Jones. Wake me up if Mahomes, Kecle, Hill or their offensive line falls apart.

Dallas does not like Byron Jones but no one will outbid Denver for him. Will they keep Harris as well?

Denver has a ton of cap room.

While we’re dreaming, let’s get Seth Jones, he’d be one of my favorites if we had him. Crazy that Nashville had so many good d that Jones and Weber were expendable. They STILL have 3 fantastic guys.

I do recall wanting Chris Jones at that pick, being disappointed, and after one year, thinking neither one really was all that good. Haha!

Hm. Not sure the career milestone possibilities add up for Jones.
