The Falcons can’t let a focus on 2020 ruin their future
If you have a small title window you go all-in and take whatever necessary risks that will elevate your team to that level you can. People are scared of bringing a new regime and how poorly they would turn out, but we already know how poorly this regime turned out.
It’s been time for a change, but the brass is too scared to acknowledge it. Enjoy watching our franchise’s greatest players’ careers go to waste; you guys wished for this.

Or was it better than the one he crafted? I’d say the latter not the former.
QB record isn’t really a thing, but losing because your QB is injured IS a thing. Lynch has done a very good job with his roster. He just made a Superbowl in his third season as a GM with a roster of his own design. Think Getty will match that as the Giants GM? I’ll take Lynch.

Getty’s roster may DEVELOP into a better one in time but they most certainly were not in the 2019 season. The roster he inherited was a season removed from 11 wins and the playoffs. The coaching failed those players and in turn they quit on the coaches. It got ugly not because of a lack of talent but because Mac was too full of himself. It was a roster that was getting older, and there wasn’t enough depth. But I would take the 16/17 roster over any that has taken the field since. There were different approaches that could have been taken if he really wanted to "win while rebuilding."
This season is the make or break year. The Giants coaching held back the roster last season (just like it did in 17) let’s see if this new staff can help any of these young talents develop. I think there is some talent there — enough to at least be a competent / competitive football team. He has cap money to play with and another top 5 pick. The 2020 roster will be better than 2019 for sure. I am feeling hopeful about the future at the moment.

Jones does need to get better with a lot of things. Pocket presence is the biggest one, but he also wasn’t asked to work progressions a lot in college. He showed a better aptitude for it than I expected in his rookie season, but he also locked onto a target more than you want to see. He is still at his best when he is throwing quick passes to predetermined targets. He has a lot of room for growth. But when you throw as many picks and fumble as many times as he had — either you are playing too much hero ball (yes) or you don’t have a great feel for the game (also yes). You could see his pocket presence starting to improve towards the end of the season though.
Frankly Warner isn’t unearthing some rare piece of information. He basically said this rookie is struggling with the same things almost every rookie QB struggles with.
