The St. Louis Rams keep tanking. Does it reflect on the fans' view of Jeff Fisher? Does a rhetorical question need an answer?

Well. I mean. Where should I begin? Rams have lost…uhhh…how many games in a row? I can only count to four, so I lost track. Perhaps I'm just slowly blacking-out this season in my mind.

I’m assuming as I’m writing this that Jeff Fisher is getting in touch with 3k to see about firing me from Turf Show Times. In his mind, everyone and everything is responsible for the Rams total collapse in 2015, except himself (even in the smallest way). I would be much more inclined to the idea of firing Offensive Coordinator Frank Cignetti, Jr., mid-season if the replacement had a sweet name (see: Jim Bob Cooter), because that gives us a fun name to mention every time someone brings up how awful my team is.

I suppose we should mention the last game at least briefly. The Rams got smoked at home by the Arizona Cardinals 27-3. The same Cardinals that were in a similar mess the Rams were four years ago and are now the favorite team to the win the NFC championship and get back to the Super Bowl.

So let’s get back to the point of this thing. In your mind, how would you rank Jeff Fisher’s job in 2015 (with a slight emphasis on the previous game). Please vote in the poll below, same scale as all season:

1 – Puke.

10 – Yay!

This weekend the Rams get to host Jim Bob Cooter(!!) and the Detroit Lions.

I don't blame you if you only see red.

Sunday was...sad. Beyond ugly. Just sad.

The Rams offense has crossed over into legendary status after their inept showing (again). Something had to happen, and it did with the firing of Frank Cignetti, Jr. You know, the only guy Fisher could get to take the job. Fisher's handpicked guy. Until he wasn't.

His replacement is TE Coach Not-Scott Boras. That's a great idea, considering the tight ends have continuously played at an exceptional level. Oh well. This is Fisherball. Breathe it, live it, repeat it. Just don't ask questions, or you'll have to listen to silence. Or kiss Jeff Fisher's ass.

Time to rank:

Four weeks. Four useless, pointless weeks remain.

December Rams football is just so, so, so, so, so very stupid.

Injuries

This, more than anything, is what worries me. Human beings will get injured over the next month, and for what? How futile is this upcoming month of football? From a compassion standpoint, it's sickening. Janoris Jenkins got lit up yesterday by his own teammate in what turned out to be a humiliating, depressing embarrassment in front of the home crowd.

That's sad.

Performance Issues

We passed the part of the season where this section of the perspective recaps was useful.

Standings

The Rams are now in the bottom five of the NFC with the Cowboys the only three-win team along with the four-win compatriots: the Lions, Saints and Niners.

Schedule

The Rams have two more home games coming up against the Lions and the Buccaneers, a nationally televised Thursday Night Football game that's sure to highlight the positive qualities of the Rams and not focus on yet another failed season and a possible move to Los Angeles. And of course, the Rams finish the season on the road in Seattle and San Francisco to wrap things up.

It's all pointing to the offseason. Four games isn't changing the focus now.

And that’s not all that big of a deal. The Cardinals are the best team in the NFC West. They own the second best record in the NFC.

The Cardinals are going to the playoffs. They may make it all the way to the Super Bowl with a head coach like Bruce Arians. And that’s because he has a grasp on reality. He has a grip on his team and where they’re headed.

Jeff Fisher does not. Here’s what Fisher had to say this evening after his team lost embarrassingly, for the fifth straight time, by a final score of 27-3...at home.

Coach is almost out of answers. My responsibility is to say, ‘Hey, I’m going to get this thing fixed.’ I mean we’re not efficient on offense. We have too many good players. We’ve got guys that can produce. We have an outstanding running back and we have a dynamic receiver. We’re starting to get a little bit better on the offensive line and so we’ll keep working. But it has to get better. It’s not good.

It’s ok if you’re confused about what the Rams are doing. It’s also ok if you’re not sure where they’re headed -- in the 2015 football season, or geographically in 2016.

It’s ok because the head coach of the football team doesn’t know. He’s almost out of answers. Quite frankly, I think we - collectively - are almost out of questions.

The past is no refuge for Rams. The present is too painful. We need only only get to the threshold between the present and the future. It's the only reprieve.

At the end of the 2011 season, the last under Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo, the horrid Rams offense flopped without a full season from their franchise QB having to rely on Kellen Clemens and A.J. Feeley for six starts finishing 32nd in points and 31st in offensive yards.

Before today's twelfth game of the 2015 season, the fourth under Head Coach Jeff Fisher, the Rams' offense has flopped despite having their presumptive starting QB healthy all season buttressed by a "once in a generation" running back and enough draft picks to choke a small mammal. Heading into today, the Rams' offense ranked 31st in points and 31st in offensive yards.

That's what Fisher has taken four years to build.

With it came today. Today's performance against the Cardinals who gained 524 yards to the Rams' 212. Today's performance which saw the Rams convert just one of 12 third down opportunity, bringing their league worst rate even lower. Today's performance in which the Rams, billed as a run-first team, relied on that "once in a generation" running back on nine carries for 41 yards. One of those runs went for 34 yards, meaning the other 8 carries averaged less than a yard per.

This is nothing.

This is time moving slower than itself.

This is hope burnished by bullshit.

Yesterday is gone. Today is horrible. Tomorrow is everything and it's always, always, always too far away.
