The Los Angeles Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday. LA now can get ready to play the Detroit Lions for their upcoming playoff game. By the time you are reading this, we may know when LA will be playing, but for right now all we know is who LA is playing, not when (at least while I am writing this). Are you excited that LA will be taking on the Lions? Is that the ideal matchup for the Rams? Who were you hoping LA would play in round one?

Update: We do now know that LA will be playing on Sunday night. We will be waiting all day for Sunday night, as they say.

Please comment on whatever you’d like, have a great victory Monday, and thank you to everyone who checked out any of our game threads during the regular seaosn. On to the postseason now!

Carson Wentz leads Rams to win over 49ers; L.A. will face Lions in playoffs (latimes)

“The Rams will play the Detroit Lions — and former Rams quarterback Jared Goff — in a wild-card game at Ford Field.

It will be a homecoming for Stafford, who played 12 seasons for the Lions before he was traded to the Rams for Goff, two first-round draft picks and a third-round pick before the 2021 season.

Stafford did not play against the 49ers — but the Rams did not need him.

Carson Wentz, making his first start since the end of the 2022 season, passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, and Puka Nacua established NFL rookie records for catches and yards receiving.”

“From the No. 177 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to No. 1 in the rookie record books, Puka Nacua has become an instant sensation.

Nacua, the Los Angeles Rams fifth-round pick, set a new rookie record for receiving yards during Sunday’s 21-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Nacua surpassed Bill Groman’s 1960 rookie mark of 1,473 yards on a 6-yard catch in the third quarter. He needed 29 yards coming into Week 17 to get past Groman and did so, recording his seventh 100-plus-yard game of the season.

In doing so, Nacua has also passed by some of his big-name current receiving brethren: Justin Jefferson (2020, 1,400 yards) and Ja’Marr Chase (2021, 1,455).”
