The Los Angeles Rams trail the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 20-7 after the first half of play. Sam Darnold and the 49ers started with the ball on offense and they easily drove down the field to open up the scoring with a rushing touchdown. SF led 7-0 after the successful extra point. Carson Wentz and the Rams would get a chance to respond when they took the field for their first drive of the day. LA was able to drive down the field and Wentz connected with Puka Nacua for the Rams first points of the day and Wentz’s first TD pass for his new team.
All eyes on Puka Nacua to see if he can break the rookie yardage and receptions records.
The game was knotted up at 7-7 with about two minutes to go in the first quarter. Darnold and company were driving once again as the second quarter got rolling. SF would end the drive with their second rushing score of the day and a 14-7 lead after the extra point. On LA’s next drive, Wentz would end up throwing an interception. It didn’t seem all Wentz’s fault but regardless SF had the ball again and chance to add to their lead.
LA was able to force a SF field goal attempt on this dive and the 49ers would miss the kick. The score remained 14-7 with about four minutes remaining in the second quarter. The Rams would be forced to punt after the two minute warning giving the 49ers another chance to add to their lead before the end of the half. The 49ers would do exactly that with their third touchdown of the game. SF led 20-7 after missing the extra point with about 10 seconds left in the half.
The score stayed 20-7 as the first half came to a close.
