Random Ramsdom: Carson Wentz has never lost to the 49ers as a starter?

The Los Angeles Rams will be rolling out with Carson Wentz this Sunday. That has been well documented, but what you may not know is that Carson Wentz has never lost to the San Francisco 49ers. That is pretty interesting. We have the 49ers who have “owned” the Rams in the regular season the last several matchups and we have Wentz to has never lost to them. Something’s gotta give her right? Do you expect Wentz to lead the Rams to victory this Sunday? What should be except from Sam Darnold who will be leading the 49ers?

I know I’ve had questions like this throughout the week, so thank you everyone who continues to particpate and comment. Thank you. Please comment on whatever you’d like and have a great Saturday! I’ll be doing the game thread for the Rams on Sunday and it’s so nice knowing that LA is guarenteed at least two more games. Let’s enjoy it!

3 Numbers to know for 49ers-Rams: Carson Wentz is undefeated against the Niners (ninersnation)

“Record. Quarterback Carson Wentz has a 3-0 career record against the 49ers in games he started.

Sunday marks Wentz’s fifth career start against the 49ers on his fourth different team. Wentz was a member of the Eagles (twice), Colts, and Commanders in his previous four games against the 49ers, with Sunday’s tilt his first career start with the Rams.

The 49ers haven’t had much luck against the 2016 first-round pick, with the loss against the Colts in 2021 on a rainy Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium likely the standout. Wentz threw for only 150 yards but managed a pair of touchdowns in Indianapolis’s 30-18 win with a late 28-yard touchdown to Michael Pittman in the fourth quarter, putting San Francisco away.

Wentz’s six touchdown passes against San Francisco are tied for second-most in his career against non-NFC East or AFC South teams. Oddly enough, the two other teams he’s thrown more against are also in the NFC West, with six against Arizona and eight against Seattle. The only time Wentz has been handed a loss against San Francisco was last season, when Wentz came in as relief to Taylor Heinicke in the 49ers 37-20 win.

While San Francisco has a streak to continue against Los Angeles, Wentz will look to extend his streak against the 49ers in a game irrelevant to the Red and Gold.”

Could 49ers game be start of something beautiful for Rams’ Carson Wentz? (sports.yahoo.com)

“Since joining the Rams in November, Carson Wentz rarely has stood still on the sideline.

The veteran quarterback bursts into sprints as if he is avoiding a rush. He tosses passes as if he’s engineering a game-winning, two-minute drive.

But as Matthew Stafford led the Rams to a playoff spot, Wentz never got the chance to show in a game that he could once again be a viable NFL starter.

That opportunity arrives Sunday.

Coach Sean McVay is resting Stafford and a few other starters, so Wentz will be under center against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium.”
