The Los Angeles Rams will be rolling with Carson Wentz this week to take on the San Francico 49ers. LA will opt to rest Matthew Stafford and few other key players as LA prepares to play a playoff game in a coupe weeks. How do you expect Wentz to look? How do you feel about McVay resting some key players? Any other takeaways from the head coach’s decision? Do you expect LA to finally end their regular season drought against the 49ers? I may have to ask that again later in the week.

I had originally written this about the Pro Bowl, but we already had part of that conversation covered. I still couldn’t bring myself to delete what I had typed below, so feel free to check it and or join the other discussion here.

You can read about the players announced here as well!

LA will have a few players representing them in the Pro Bowl this year. That’s very exciting for Aaron Donald, Puka Nacua, Stafford, Kyren Williams and even Ben Skowronek who was named as an alternate. The team has found some success this year, and some of their players are being acknowledged accordingly. Are there any Rams that you think were missed out on or any others that should’ve been invited? Any other awards you want to talk about for the Rams or other teams/players?

As always, thanks for checking out some links today, thanks for commenting, thanks for supporting. Have a great day and go Rams!

Report: Carson Wentz to start for Rams on Sunday (nbcsports)

“Wentz’s last start was with Washington in Week 17 of the 2022 season, which ended in a 24-10 loss to Cleveland. He was 16-of-28 passing for 143 yards with three interceptions in that game.

The No. 2 overall pick of the 2016 draft, Wentz spent his first five seasons with the Eagles before he was traded to the Colts in March 2021. Indianapolis then sent him to Washington in March 2022.

Los Angeles selected Jared Goff over Wentz back when both players were entering the league. Now the Rams will become the fourth team Wentz has started for over the last four years.”

Four Rams selected to 2024 Pro Bowl, one selected as alternate (

“THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Four Rams have garnered Pro Bowl recognition.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald, wide receiver Puka Nacua, quarterback Matthew Staffordand running back Kyren Williams have all been selected to this year’s Pro Bowl Games.

Additionally, wide receiver Ben Skowronek was selected as an alternate.

For Donald, it’s his 10th-consecutive Pro Bowl honor, extending his streak of being named one every year of his career since entering the NFL in 2014. He is the only defensive lineman since 1970 to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first 10 seasons, and also joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Reggie White (13) and Bruce Smith (11) as the only defensive linemen since 1970 with 10 Pro Bowl selections.”

“The Los Angeles Rams will start Super Bowl champion Carson Wentz at quarterback in Week 18 to give their usual starter, Matthew Stafford, some rest ahead of the NFL playoffs.

Wentz, who won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, has not thrown a pass in an NFL game since Jan. 1, 2023, when he played for the Washington Commanders.

Since the Rams already locked up a playoff spot in the NFC, head coach Sean McVay is going to temporarily hand things over to Wentz.”

49ers will sit Purdy, start Darnold; McCaffrey sees NFL rushing title as team award (mercurynews)

“Purdy, at this point, is the 49ers’ only healthy scratch for a game that won’t impact playoff positioning for the 49ers (12-4).

In turn, the Rams, with a wild-card berth already in hand, will sideline their No. 1 quarterback, Matthew Stafford, and instead go with Carson Wentz.

“Brock’s the only guy for sure I don’t plan on playing,” Shanahan said, before amending that by noting injured players also will get this game off and benefit further from next week’s wild-card bye.”
