Do you want the Rams to make the playoffs? Well, this is how they can do it

The Los Angeles Rams are 6-6 and have stretched their win streak to three on the year. They have outscored teams 90-46 coming out of the bye week, they are undefeated coming out of the bye week, are 5-0 when scoring at least 24 points and are 5-3 when Kyren Williams plays. This team is surging at the right time and just beat a quality Browns team that is 7-5 right now and in the AFC playoffs if the season ended today.

The Rams have completed the 180 turnaround from 3-6 to 6-6. They are now back to .500 and have officially secured more wins on the year in week 13 than they did all of last year. However, there is still much to be done so here’s how the scenarios look at the moment for the Rams to extend their season into the playoffs.

According to the NY Times interaction playoff simulation, the Rams currently have a now 50-percent chance of making the playoffs following the Packers win over the Chiefs. Keep in mind, this is a predictive model that simulates games based on the model itself.

Here are several scenarios in which the L.A. Rams can complete a 3-6 turnaround into a playoff berth (playoff odds in parentheses):

11-6 (Run the table)

Win vs. Ravens (75%)

Win vs. Commanders (84%)

Win vs. Saints (93%)

Win vs. Giants (99%)

Win vs. 49ers (100%)

10-7 (4-1 the rest of the way)

Loss vs. Ravens (42%)

Win vs. Commanders (54%)

Win vs. Saints (66%)

Win vs. Giants (79%)

Win vs. 49ers (98%)

9-8 (3-2 the rest of the way)

Loss vs. Ravens (45%)

Win vs. Commanders (54%)

Win vs. Saints (66%)

Win vs. Giants (79%)

Loss vs. 49ers (71%)

8-9 (2-3 the rest of the way)

Loss vs. Ravens (45%)

Win vs. Commanders (54%)

Win vs. Saints (33%)

Win vs. Giants (44%)

Loss vs. 49ers (32%)

Other paths

What if the Rams lose to the Saints and Ravens instead of the 49ers week 18 and those are their two losses?

Loss vs. Ravens (45%)

Win vs. Commanders (54%)

Loss vs. Saints (15%)

Win vs. Giants (20%)

Win vs. 49ers (63%)

Rams have a 74.9% chance of beating the Commanders

49ers have a 74% chance of beating the Rams

Here’s your weekly rooting guide if you want the Rams to get into the playoffs. This is of course the perfect scenario for each game the rest of the way.

The Rams have good positioning right now at 6-6 in which they really only need to win three of their next five, have the Vikings drop three of their next five and the Seahawks drop at least two and the Rams should make the playoffs. Of course, the Rams are in if they run the table. They essentially control their own destiny but it doesn’t hurt to have a little help. To make a long story short, you should be rooting against the Vikings and Seahawks the rest of the way.
