The Los Angeles Rams finish up the 2023 regular season against their bitter NFC West rival the San Francisco 49ers who are 2.5-point favorites, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. With their win over New York in Week 17, LA clinched their sixth winning season in the last seven years.
The Rams moved to 9-7 with one game remaining after defeating the Giants 26-25 in an absolute thriller. Matthew Stafford had two interceptions but completed 24-of-34 passes for 317 yards and threw a touchdown to Cooper Kupp. Puka Nacua led LA with 118 yards receiving on five receptions. Nacua has a chance to set rookie records in receptions and receiving yards in the final week. Running back Kyren Williams helped all fantasy managers as he rushed for three touchdowns. Of course, my heart is still beating after that miracle ending, compliments of the football gods.
San Francisco clinched the top seed in the NFC thanks to beating the Commanders 27-10 and due to the Eagles choking hard against the Cardinals. Brock Purdy was his typical annoyingly efficient self as he only had six incompletions and threw two touchdowns, one to Brandon Aiyuk and the other to Deebo Samuel. Samuel, Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell all contributed to the Niners’ 184 yards on the ground. Enjoy that well-deserved number one seed fellas and I hope you get absolutely demolished in the playoffs.
Who do you trust more this week? Can the Rams figure out a way to upset the 49ers on the road? Will the 49ers even play their starters for very long after earning the NFC’s top seed? I expect LA to play much cleaner in San Francisco with a playoff berth likely to be clinched. That will depend on the result between the Seahawks and Steelers on New Year’s Eve.
My pick is for the Rams to go over the spread and earn a much-needed win that’ll officially seal their trip to the postseason. Who are you betting on in Week 18? Let’s discuss in the comments!
