Rams-Browns: Open thread for first half

Both teams are fighting for their playoff lives at this point in the season.

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Rams Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams (5-6) host the Cleveland Browns (7-4) on Sunday at 4:25pm ET for this Week 13 matchup. Each team is in the thick of thier respective conferece’s playoff hunt(s), and both teams would probably say this is a must win game. This should be an exciting game with plenty of implications for the NFC and the AFC. Here’s our how to watch guide and some prop bets for your consideration.

The expectation is that Joe Flacco will start for the Browns and Cleveland is coming into this game with a number of injuries. It’s the second half of the season and all of the teams are beat up. There are no excuses. It’s December, teams need to win now if they want to stay relevant. The Browns can absolutely lean on their running game and defense so regardless of who lines up under center, the Rams are going to have their work cut out for them.

Meanwhile the Rams welcomed back Kyren Williams last week, and he put up perhaps the best performance of his career. Williams handled the bulk of carries for LA, but Royce Freeman has also showed some juice as the backup running back in Sean McVay’s offense. LA has a chance to make a statement if the offense can put up some numbers against the Browns defense. Cleveland is arguably the best defensive unit in the league.
