Rams vs Ravens opening odds: LA is a touchdown underdog in Baltimore

LA is facing Lamar Jackson for the first time since his 2019 MVP campaign

The Los Angeles Rams embark on a trip out to the East Coast where they’ll take on the Baltimore Ravens, with the Rams opening up as 7.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook. LA is facing Lamar Jackson for only the second time. In 2019, the Ravens shredded the Rams 45-6 while Jackson threw five touchdowns, effectively sealing his MVP campaign that season.

The Rams moved into second place in the NFC West following a 36-19 win over the Browns. LA is 6-6 on the season as the offense racked up 399 yards and averaged 6.4 yards per play against one of the NFL’s top defenses. Matthew Stafford continued his strong play by throwing for three more touchdowns. Stafford has thrown seven touchdown passes to just one interception in the last two games. Puka Nacua led the Rams with 105 receiving yards and had a speedy 70-yard TD in the first quarter. Nacua went over 1,000 yards on the season in the game, setting a team rookie record for receiving yards. Cooper Kupp also had a clutch score to put LA up by eight after Joe Flacco was picked off by safety John Johnson.

The Ravens were on their bye in Week 13. Before heading into their off week, Baltimore defeated the Chargers 20-10 on Sunday Night Football. Lamar Jackson had a modest statline, completing 18-of-32 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown to rookie wideout Zay Flowers. Jackson and the offense took a backseat to the team’s stellar defense as they held the Chargers to 279 total yards. Justin Herbert was sacked three times as LA’s offense turned the ball over four times. Those turnovers enabled Baltimore to pull away and prevent Herbert from leading a comeback.

Who do you trust more this week? Will the Rams be able to put up a fight against a second straight tough AFC North defense? Or will Lamar Jackson and the Ravens come out of their bye and go scorched earth on LA’s secondary? While the Ravens have a tendency to struggle with opponents they should otherwise dominate, the Rams will have their hands full in Week 14. I expect Baltimore to prove exactly why they’re a Super Bowl contender and beat yet another Los Angeles-based squad with ease.

My pick is for the Rams to go under the spread and lose by double digits in the Charm City. Who are you betting on in Week 14? Let’s discuss in the comments!
