Rams don’t make change at kicker (yet)

Despite calling up Mason Crosby from practice squad, Rams make him inactive

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears Mark Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams called up Mason Crosby from the practice squad on Saturday, but that’s as far as he’ll go this week. The Rams have Crosby on the inactive list, meaning that Lucas Havrisik will kick again. Also inactive for L.A. are Tyler Higbee, Quentin Lake, Ochaun Mathis, Warren McClendon, and Earnest Brown.

Inactive for the Ravens are Josh Johnson (but designated as emergency third QB), Rock Ya-Sin, Malik Harrison, Sam Mustipher, and Sala Aumavae-Laulu.

The Rams signed Crosby as insurance for the shaky Havrisik, but he hasn’t kicked for any team since the Green Bay Packers in 2022 and was only just signed last week. He must need more time to prepare, which Sean McVay indicated would probably be the case when he spoke to the media on Friday. Havrisik has been inconsistent and yet he still has a chance to keep the job if he does well in Week 14.
