Rams vs. Seahawks: How to watch, TV schedule, streaming, listen and more

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Can the Rams sweep the Seahawks?
Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Trying to right the ship after three straight losses, the Los Angeles Rams host the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:25 p.m. The two squads will meet in a rematch of Week 1, where L.A. took the season opener 30-13.

Although the season has gone disparate ways for the two with the 6-3 ‘Hawks fighting for the NFC West Division lead and the 3-6 Rams hanging on to the slimmest of playoff hopes, statistically speaking, they have performed similarly on the field. Both are ranked towards the middle of the pack on offense and defense. With the L.A. and Seattle on field outputs similar, how did they find their way to opposite records?

Strength of schedule may be the best answer. Seattle’s opponents have a composite record of 38-49 and only four of their nine foes sport .500 records or better. Although the Seahawks did have solid wins over the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns, their slate toughens considerably after this week’s tussle with the Rams. They will take on the San Francisco 49ers twice, the Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles in four consecutive weeks.

On the other hand, seven of the Rams first nine opponents are .500 or better and have an overall won/loss record of 49-37. Four of the six Rams losses have been by a touchdown or less. Down the stretch, Los Angeles has manageable slate of games, with only the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers looking like prohibitive favorites.

In the Rams 30-13 season-opening win, the offense controlled the ball for over 39 minutes. They used quite a few two tight end formations (for the Rams) and ran the ball 40 times. While it wasn’t for a copious amount of yardage, it not only wore down the ‘Hawk defense for a 23-0 advantage in the second half, but opened both the longer and underneath passing lanes. L.A. rolled to 426 yards, 27 first downs, 11 of 17 third down conversions.
