This one goes out to the Rams Fans! Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium the Los Angeles Rams beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-24 and moved on to 3-0 while handing the Bucs their first loss of the season.
All groups showed up as hoped with the passing attack from Stafford on full display hitting Kupp on two touchdowns, DeSeason Jackson for a 75 yard touchdown and one to Tyler Higbee. The defense showed up by smothering the Buccaneers rushing attack and limiting the greatest passer of all time to just one touchdown that came at the end of the game when the game was well in the hands of Los Angeles.
But the other group that showed up was the fans! People outside LA like to speculate on how the Rams fanbase has evolved over the time the team was away and then over the five years that the Rams have been back in town. Well, I was at this game and if you weren't there then I’m here to tell you. Rams Nation, the Ramily, the roughly 65,000 Sunday tenants of the the Rams House were in full force to witness their team declare themselves the best in the NFL. And they knew it. Rams Fans were checked in and locked in. 99 jerseys everywhere, only to be broken up by the 9 and the 5 peppering in the scene. Rams Fans were loud, whether you were there, or watching the broadcast, or jumping offsides in a Bucs uniform in the first quarter, the volume was distinct.
Rams Nation has been following and watching Sean McVay construct and tweak his team and scheme over the last five years and it seems they knew even before this test that the addition of Matthew Stafford would be the difference. Most analysts picked the Bucs in this one and the books had the Rams as underdogs in their own place. But the Rams Fans on Sunday would not waiver. Rams faithful know how good this team can be and now with a packed SoFi Stadium it seems the good times are rolling as the rest of the world finds out too.
