According to a report from Ian Rapoport, the former Rams and Falcons running back is back in his hometown of Baltimore to visit the Ravens. The two-time First-Team All-Pro is still without a home for the 2021 season and is coming off a visit with the Detroit Lions.
Former Pro Bowl RB Todd Gurley is visiting the #Ravens today, source said. The former #Rams and #Falcons weapon also recently visited the #Lions. Now it’s Baltimore, which could build on an already stacked backfield.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 10, 2021
Thus far, it’s mainly been the Lions and the Ravens who have shown interest. Both situations wouldn’t necessarily be ideal for Gurley if he’s looking for a place with ample opportunities up for grabs. Both teams recently drafted a young running back in 2020 and each team also has respectable depth behind their young stars.
Should Gurley sign with Baltimore, he’d be relegated to a rotational role with Gus Edwards behind starter J.K. Dobbins. After a down year in Atlanta, maybe a year where he takes a backseat could do him some good in the long run.
