A few years ago, I started monitoring the YouTube pages for all 32 NFL teams because it was clear that the league was pushing for more content that resembled what they were doing with Hard Knocks and All or Nothing. Some teams had full-fledged Hard Knock knockoffs like “Flight Plan” from the Cardinals or “Building the Browns” out of Cleveland.
But despite playing on the outskirts of Hollywood, the Los Angeles Rams had almost no activity on their YouTube page and only one or two teams had fewer subscribers than they did. Now the Rams are one of the fastest-growing franchises in all of sports and the attention paid to creating content has also been on the rise.
One such feature is “Inside the Draft” and on Saturday they released episode three, which is a quick look at the selection of linebacker Ernest Jones late in the third round. Scouts and coaches give their thoughts on what made Jones so special as a linebacker prospect and how he’ll fit into the defense’s plans in the future.
“It didn’t matter who you asked in the building, Ernest was the most passionate. He took was the guy who took ownership in the defense early on in his career,” said Rams scout Michael Pierce.
Even former Rams executive Brad Holmes is featured in the video praising Jones as a linebacker prospect. “He’s so consistent,” said Holmes.
And in case you missed it, here’s Ernest Jones on his first meeting with the media as a member of the Rams.
