Les Snead entered the 2021 draft with six selections, having spent a first on Jalen Ramsey and a third on Matthew Stafford, both as part of larger deals. However, by the end of the draft, Snead had made three trades and nine picks, increasing the number of drafted prospects who will compete for a spot in training camp.
Of those, three were taken in round seven, assuring LA of three prospects who they didn’t have to fight over in a competitive UDFA market. A running back, a receiver/tight end, and a defensive end/outside linebacker. But all three will more likely be competing to win an opportunity on special teams in the near future.
And all have to overcome the long odds that face all seventh rounders. But there should be some hidden gems in a class clouded in mystery.
The Rams made three seventh round choices:
7.233 - RB Jake Funk - DRAFT ANNOUNCEMENT
7.249 - WR/TE Ben Skowronek - DRAFT ANNOUNCEMENT
7.252 - DE Chris Garrett - DRAFT ANNOUNCEMENT
Who is most likely to make the Rams final 53-man roster? I recorded a podcast asking that question and giving my answers for all three. I’ll add a poll below the show.
