Rumors: Rams will host Bears, open the season’s SNF schedule once again

We have our first Rams-related leak

The NFL will officially release the schedule on Wednesday — and it has been reported that the full Week 1 schedule will be announced early in the morning, hours ahead of Weeks 2-17 — but we might already know who the LA Rams are playing in Week 1 and when.

And this would completely make sense, if true.

According to Danny Parkins of 690 The Score in Chicago, the Rams will be hosting the Bears on Sunday Night Football in Week 1. This would be a huge game for the NFL, not only because of the consistent draw of the Chicago Bears (for whatever reasons), but because it will allow them to once again showcase SoFi Stadium to a national audience.

The Rams hosted the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2020 season, winning that game 20-17.

This could also give the NFL a chance to see Justin Fields early, but that’s only if he beats out Andy Dalton and Nick Foles (if Foles remains on the roster) prior to Week 1. I don’t know if I see that happening, but the Rams hosting the Bears on SNF in Week 1 is definitely something that I could envision as a reality.

We will know for sure by tomorrow morning at the latest.
