Could LB Cameron McGrone be a fit for Rams in round three?

McGrone is considered a draft “sleeper”

NCAA Football: Michigan State at Michigan Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

“Michigan LB Cam McGrone has the highest ceiling of any of the LBs I’ve profiled so far. My comp for him is Deion Jones of the Falcons. Which is just another way of saying that if he could reach his potential, McGrone could be one of the best LBs in the NFL.”

That’s a quote from a fanpost created by Ferragamo15 at Turf Show Times. It’s one that I imagine Brett Kollmann — formerly of SB Nation’s Texans blog and now a successful YouTuber — would agree with too.

In his most recent video, 5 MORE great NFL draft prospects you’ve never heard of, Kollmann says that McGrone should be a top-50 pick even though he probably won’t be a top-50 pick. He says that McGrone is an extremely underrated linebacker who could go late day two or even day three. The Rams happen to have three picks on day two, including two in “late day two” range, and a couple more on day three.

Of course, one of the issues with McGrone is his injury history and Los Angeles just used a round three pick on a linebacker with injury issues. And during his rookie season, Terrell Lewis had plenty of ailments that kept him out of practices and games. Should Les Snead avoid injury risks in 2021?

Or is McGrone too good to pass up with their last pick on day two?
