The Los Angles Rams have begun the heavy lifting of getting under the NFL salary cap by Wednesday afternoon.
NFL Media reported Tuesday morning that the Rams have restructured the contract of star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which he signed last year, to create $12 million in 2021 salary-cap room. The report also stated that the Rams have begun to work on the contracts of wide receivers Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, defensive tackle Aaron Donald and offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth will all soon be restructured as well to get the Rams under the cap in the next day.
The #Rams are working to get under the cap, restructuring CB Jalen Ramsey’s contract (creating about $12M of space), WR Robert Woods ($8M), and Cooper Kupp's and Aaron Donald’s conversions should be done soon to get them under the threshold.

LT Andrew Whitworth is among Rams veterans to restructure their contracts for salary cap purposes as L.A. works to get compliant, per source.

The Rams had to chop more than $30 million to get under the salary cap. Los Angeles general manager Les Snead said last week that he thought the team would be able to easily get that done with some basic restructures. It’s no surprise he is getting it done by tweaking the deals of Ramsey, Woods, Kupp, Donald and Whitworth.
Ramsey, Woods and Kupp all got their new contracts all done last year. So, not only do the Rams have these stars secured for the future, but they are all helping the team do their 2021 business.
