In a new 2021 mock draft by Sports Illustrated, beat writers for all 32 NFL teams took turns making their team’s picks over the first three rounds.

For S.I. beat writer Eric Williams, it was a fairly easy exercise as he only needed to make one pick as the Rams only own No. 57 in the through the first two days of the draft. His selection was Texas left tackle Samuel Cosmi, a 6’7, 309-pound blocker with monolithic size and the raw strength to match.

“With Andrew Whitworth entering the final year of his deal and turning 40 years old in December, it certainly makes sense to add a potential left tackle of the future at that position.” — Eric Williams

The Rams are extremely fortunate to still be getting above-average play out of Andrew Whitworth at his advanced age, but they can’t push off getting a young player at the cornerstone position any longer. Cosmi has been an excellent player since he stepped on the field at Texas and snagging him in the second round would be one of the best early values in this year’s draft.
