For the first time for most of his football career, Van Jefferson’s father is going to get a front-row seat to his son’s football games at least twice in 2021, and it’s not because they handed him some incredible tickets.
Shawn Jefferson, a former wide receivers coach for the Jets, was just hired on Tuesday for the same role with the Cardinals, meaning the father and son will get to face each other out on the gridiron twice a year for the foreseeable future within the NFC West.
In his introductory press conference, Shawn joked about “kicking (Van’s) butt” twice a year when asked what he was looking forward to the most now that they share the same division.
For what it’s worth, Shawn is already up 1-0 on his son after the Jets shocked the Rams this past season for New York’s first win of the 2020 campaign.
Now for today’s links.
