Rams Confidence Poll: The 2020 draft class edition

How confident are you in the development of 2020’s rookie class?

Much like all the other years, the LA Rams didn’t have a first round pick in 2020. That didn’t mean that there wasn’t considerable pressure on the draft class to produce, with or without a normal offseason.

The Rams were hoping that Cam Akers could fill at least part of the role that Todd Gurley left behind. Or that Van Jefferson could do the same at wide receiver after trading Brandin Cooks for the pick to acquire him. And maybe Terrell Lewis could become a pass rusher of importance with Dante Fowler in Atlanta. Rounding out day two, Terrell Burgess might be able to pick up snaps at safety following Eric Weddle’s retirement.

LA’s draft class ended up producing two key rookies, but only one of them came from day two.

Though it took more than half of the season for him to get opportunities as a starter, Akers finished the year as one of the best offensive rookies in the league. He appears ready to become the featured back in Sean McVay’s offense next season.

The other regular who got drafted by the Rams last season was sixth round pick Jordan Fuller and it was him, not Burgess, who solidified himself as an early answer at safety. Fuller had 60 tackles, three interceptions, and five batted passes in 12 games. It would be surprising if he weren’t a starter in Week 1.

How confident are you that the rest of the Rams 2020 rookie class will be ready to contribute next season?
