Who would be starting for the LA Rams today, if no other moves were made?

A look at the offense and defense right now

What would the LA Rams look like today without re-signing or signing and prospective free agents?

Restricted free agents are kept on the roster for this exercise, however. We should expect the team to retain those players.

Offense

Quarterback - Matthew Stafford

Backup - John Wolford

Something’s different here.

Running back - Cam Akers

Backup - Darrell Henderson, Xavier Jones, Raymond Calais

Will the team search for a “Malcolm Brown” type or more Darrell Henderson insurance?

Wide Receiver 1 - Robert Woods

Wide Receiver 2 - Cooper Kupp

Wide Receiver 3 - Van Jefferson

Depth - Nsimba Webster, Trishton Jackson

A veteran starting receiver could be added here.

Tight End 1 - Tyler Higbee

Tight End 2 - Brycen Hopkins

Depth - Johnny Mundt (RFA)

LA could mull potential upgrades to Higbee as starter.

Left Tackle - Andrew Whitworth

Left Guard - David Edwards

Center - Austin Corbett

Right Guard - Bobby Evans

Right Tackle - Rob Havenstein

Depth - Joe Noteboom, Tremayne Anchrum, Brian Allen, Jamil Demby (FUT)

The most glaring issue would be on the interior. There’s reason to feel comfortable with Noteboom as Whitworth’s backup, but can Corbett start at center? Is there a player who seems like he’s going to be a quality starter at right guard? The interior of the offensive line could be the top offseason priority.

Defense

Defensive Tackle - Aaron Donald

Nose Tackle - A’Shawn Robinson

Defensive End - Michael Brockers

Depth - Greg Gaines, Sebastian Joseph-Day

Morgan Fox is a free agent and this position is quickly out of depth.

Inside Linebacker - Micah Kiser

Inside Linebacker - Troy Reeder

Strongside Linebacker - Terrell Lewis

Weakside Linebacker - Justin Hollins

Depth - Travin Howard (ERFA), Kenny Young, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Justin Lawler

Wouldn’t be surprised if I got the most comments about the “choices” for starting linebackers, but it’s almost all speculation at this point.

Cornerback - Jalen Ramsey

Cornerback - Darious Williams (RFA)

Slot Cornerback - Terrell Burgess

Depth - David Long, Donte Deayon (FUT)

Decided to move Burgess to slot cornerback, a position that was in mind for him when he was drafted as a safety. Burgess may win a job at safety, but given the roster’s current construction without further moves, I think he’d best serve a role at corner.

Free Safety - Juju Hughes

Strong Safety - Jordan Fuller

Depth - Taylor Rapp, Nick Scott, Jake Gervase (FUT)

Yes, I went outside the box. Prefer to keep Rapp near the box instead.

Kicker - Matt Gay

Punter - Johnny Hekker

The team actually doesn’t have a longsnapper signed yet, since Jake McQuaide is a free agent.

What do you like about what you see? What concerns you the most?
