On Wednesday, I created a survey about the 2021 Los Angeles Rams and the second question on the poll was about Kenny Young. “The decision to trade Kenny Young for “financial flexibility” and promote Ernest Jones was a good move: True or False?” With hundreds of votes in — but the polls still open — 51.5 percent of respondents voted “True.”
UPDATE: With more votes counted, it is now EXACTLY 50/50 vote!!! There are exactly 308 votes for each side. GET YOUR VOTES IN NOW!!!
That it was a good decision to trade Kenny Young for financial flexibility. The results have been extremely close however, showing that many fans dislike seeing the fast 27-year-old linebacker part ways with the team in the middle of a pivotal season.
If you want to have your say, the 2021 Rams survey takes less than five minutes and will help reveal more feelings that fans are having about the current season and the team.
Young was traded after recording 46 total tackles, six tackles for a loss, two sacks, and one forced fumbles in seven games. He is playing on a contract that pays him $2.1 million with a $1.3 million cap hit, but went to the Broncos in exchange for a swap of day three picks in 2024.
Sean McVay is looking for rookie Ernest Jones to step up and play a key role on the defense moving forward. The Rams rank 16th against the run by DVOA but are in the middle of a stretch of the schedule against teams that feature offenses ranked near the bottom. Will the loss of Young hurt or will the presence of Jones help?
