Congrats to Taylor Rapp on being named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week
Rapp intercepted Daniel Jones twice and recorded three pass breakups in the Rams’ 38-11 victory in New York. The safety also notched five tackles and was around the football on a frequent basis Sunday afternoon. Overall the Rams forced four takeaways against Jones, including an interception by rookie corner Robert Rochell and a forced fumble by OLB Obo Okoronkwo.
This is Rapp’s first full season as a starter for Los Angeles, and he’s had up and down moments so far in 2021. The Rams need key players in the secondary to step up with corner Darious Williams on injured reserve with an ankle injury for at least two more games. Rapp’s performance against the Giants is a welcome development and could be a sign he is turning the corner.
