Following a sack attempt on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson during Saturday’s wild card game, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was slow to get up, grabbing at the right side of his rib cage. It didn’t take long for the First-Team All-Pro to be tagged as questionable to return, per the team.
According to NFL reporter Omar Ruiz, Donald headed to the Rams’ locker room after walking off the field under his own power.
At first glance, it looked as if Wilson landed hard on top of Donald when he was spun down. While it did look like a routine hit, the impact must have been extremely hard to knock Donald out of the game for now.
Up until the injury, Donald had been on a tear against the Seahawks. Of his three total tackles, two of them were sacks while he’s also hit Wilson another three times.
Donald finished the regular season with 13.5 sacks, his fourth-straight season of notching double-digits in that category.
