Isaac Bruce was a dominant receiver for the Rams many times over and even at age 48 he’s willing to do what it takes to help the franchise’s quarterback situation. At least, as far as what he believes would serve the Rams best.
And he doesn’t believe that Jared Goff is serving the Rams best.
Bruce was asked by TMZ Sports on Friday if he would want Les Snead to trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, a player who is reportedly unhappy with his current situation. Bruce started by saying that he texted someone in the Rams organization in 2018 to say that it would be a perfect opportunity to draft Lamar Jackson.
The Rams had the 23rd pick in the draft, but opted to trade it to the New England Patriots for Brandin Cooks instead of using it. Jackson went 32nd to the Baltimore Ravens, who traded up to get him.
He then said he would “love to” see Snead trade for Watson.
“I think Deshaun Watson is a great talent. He can throw the football well. He’s a competitor,” added Bruce.
“If Les can pull it off, I’d be jumping on the table as well to make it happen.”
Bruce did say that he thinks that the Rams do have the right coaches to potentially coach Goff back to being a good player. But Bruce went as far as to say that he doesn’t think Jared Goff’s body language indicates that he’s willing to take the path to become great.
