In the final edition of CBS Sports’ NFL power rankings, the Rams rose by one spot, going from No. 13 to No. 12 after their win over the Cardinals in the regular season finale. Their record of 10-6 solidified an improvement from their final mark a year ago and the playoff appearance is rather nice, as well.

“They impressed in winning a game with John Wolford at quarterback,” says author Pete Prisco. “The defense showed up big, and will need to do so this week at Seattle.”

There’s an unfortunate chance that the Rams may be stuck with Wolford once again against Seattle, but as long as there is a chance that Jared Goff can go in the wild card round, I wouldn’t count him out. Even if Goff can only go on a limited snap count, that’s still better than 100 percent of Wolford.

Better hope the defense comes to play.

And now for today’s links.
