With the NFL’s salary cap projected to drop from $198.2 million down to $175 million in 2021, the Rams are looking to be in a rough spot as they currently sit more than $23 million over the cap. Luckily for them, they are going to have around $5.67 million rolled over in next season, so the load will be lighten slightly. Among the 32 clubs, that moment lands right in the middle of the league with only 15 team rolling over more.

Despite a year removed from playing in Los Angeles, running back Todd Gurley is still going to count $8.4 million against the cap in 2021 from his release last offseason. The biggest hit is unsurprisingly coming from quarterback Jared Goff with $34.6 million. Behind him are Aaron Donald with $27.9 million, Jalen Ramsey with $22.5 million, and Cooper Kupp with $14.5 million

Free agency is going to be ... interesting ... in 2021, to say the least. Things can be done, but it’s going to take some big-brain moves to make it happen.
