After losing Brandon Staley to the Chargers, the Rams are attempting to fill the defensive coordinator position with another very capable coach. According to reports from NFL insider Mike Garafolo, they’re striving for former Falcons defensive coordinator/interim head coach Raheem Morris.

Morris went 4-7 at the helm in the final 11 games of 2020 following the firing of head coach Dan Quinn after Atlanta began the year on a five-game losing streak.

The Falcons finished the year as the 29th-ranked team in total defense (398.4), but still held the sixth-best rushing defense at the same time, allowing just 104.8 yards per game on the ground.

Many in the NFL respect the way Morris rebounded and helped the defense finish strong in a tumultuous year for the Falcons. The Rams aren’t the only ones who are interested in his services, but they may end up be the lucky ones to land him in the end.
