Last week was filled with questions about John Wolford and Jared Goff, and the general consensus in all of our polling leaned heavily in favor of Wolford. Those fans got their wish when Wolford started against the Seattle Seahawks — and seemingly was prepared to run a more “traditional” version of Sean McVay’s offense as it is with Goff — but he left the game after only six pass attempts with a neck injury.
Goff entered the game with his obviously-swollen thumb and completed nine-of-19 passes, doing enough to help the Rams beat the Seahawks 30-20 and keep them alive for a trip back to the Super Bowl.
This week in practice, Goff was been able to go in full and Wolford was held out in Tuesday’s walkthrough. This may or may not have significance as to their availability on Saturday and McVay has again remained coy about his intentions. Fans may not be as apt to hide their feelings of who they’d prefer to see start in Green Bay on Saturday.
Did Wolford do enough in Week 17 to prove that he is still the better option over Goff?
Did Goff do enough in the wild card win to prove that he is capable of running the offense better than the inexperienced Wolford?
Should Goff be held out regardless because of the condition of his hand? Do you expect Wolford not to be cleared?
