With the first NFL regular season game just one week from today, that means fantasy football season is in full-swing with the majority of drafts taking place over this coming weekend.
Personally, I’ve had three so far (two re-draft, one rookie draft). I’ve got at least three more coming up through the end of this week and I absolutely cannot wait. The act of drafting is my favorite part about the whole process. I’m a big time research guy. Notes upon notes are scrawled over my various journals and clipboards, which are then strewn across my desk and bedroom.
I’m really into fantasy.
Anyways, in the spirit of it being “Fantasy SZN,” I wanted to get all of your opinions on your favorite selections, sleepers, etc. for this season.
As far as Rams players go, I’ve actually drafted Cam Akers in all three of the drafts I’ve had so far. I absolutely loved this guy coming out of Florida State and I think he landed in such a good situation should he win the job sooner rather than later. He is an equally explosive and powerful runner who can also be a threat in the passing game. He’s a complete back and I look forward to seeing him rise to stardom in the next year.
For non-Rams players, I really like Adam Thielen this year with no real threat to his target share now that Stefon Diggs is in Buffalo. As of now, it’s either going to be Tajae Sharpe, Bisi Johnson, or rookie Justin Jefferson lining up opposite of him. None of those guys scare me at all.
One more guy I like — and this one is risky — is David Johnson, who was traded from Arizona to Houston this offseason in return for DeAndre Hopkins.
Johnson is a guy, when healthy, who can seriously push for 1,000/1,000 rushing/receiving yards in a season. If he can kick the injury bug, Johnson can capitalize on being the top back in an explosive Texans offense that features plenty of speed with Brandin Cooks, Will Fuller, and Kenny Stills.
So those are just a few guys I’ve been keeping in mind this year. Go ahead and tell me in the comments who you all are targeting this year and why.
