It is unfortunate to see players suffer injuries in the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys had a tough night against the LA Rams on Sunday in several respects, but perhaps the worst of it will be felt on the injury report. Linebacker Leighton Vander Esch left the game with what turned out to be a broken collarbone and tight end Blake Jarwin was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
Right tackle Cam Erving was unable to start the game but came in on a special teams play and left with what was believed to be a sprained MCL and he will also miss more time.
The Rams entered the game relatively healthy and that included getting Darrell Henderson and Taylor Rapp ready to play in this game, even if they didn’t get as many highlights as their rookie counterparts. They were also luckier than Dallas by the time the game was over as the only known injury at this point is tight end Gerald Everett.
Everett left the game with a back injury and no further information has been given as of yet. No other Rams are known to have gotten hurt against the Cowboys in LA’s 20-17 win on Sunday night.
The Rams next travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles, another team that has not had the good kind of injury luck to start the year. LA got bad news prior to the season with Travin Howard and are waiting for the Rams debut of third round pick Terrell Lewis and nose tackle A’Shawn Robinson, but early reports from Week 1 look good on the injury front.
