While he is awaiting word on a lucrative new contract with the Rams, star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is making a major personal donation in his hometown.
Ramsey is donating $1 million to the Purpose Preparatory Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, to help purchase resources to expand educational opportunities for students. Ramsey wants to help “level the playing field,” he said in a statement.

This is a major and commendable gesture by the 25 year old. It was noticed by Ramsey’s teammates.
Gotta love the kid https://t.co/MCfy7QtQ53

On the same day that news broke about Ramsey’s large donation, Rams coach Sean McVay was asked about contract talks between the team and Ramsey. The talks have been ongoing for several weeks and there has been hope a new contract can be agreed upon by the start of the season on Sept. 13.
McVay didn’t have a timeline. but he said things are going well and he complimented Ramsey for the way he is handling the situation. Ramsey, who the Rams acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars last October, has been a star in training camp.
McVay says Rams still working with Jalen Ramsey’s agent on the long-term deal, says @DavidMulugheta has been great to work with. McVay says he knows how secure Jalen is and does not see it being an issue if no deal is done by the open/indicates he’d still like to see it.
