The LA Rams officially announced plans as to how they’re pproaching the 2020 NFL season and attendance at their brand new $5 billion stadium — and it is as disappointing as many assumed.
Not disappointing in the sense that they are doing the wrong thing but, as expected, it seems that because of the coronavirus pandemic, there will be little-to-no fans at Rams games and in SoFi Stadium next season.
The team sent out letters to their Stadium Seat License holders (season tickets) on Tuesday announcing that there will be limited-to-no capacity for 2020 games and that if they’d like to, they can either get a refund on any money paid towards those tickets or defer with priority options for 2021.
All 2020 ticket purchases already made at this point will be canceled.
All season ticket payment plans will be halted.
SSL holders who have made payments toward 2020 season tickets will have the ability to keep money on their account to be used toward 2021 season tickets or receive a refund.
Any tickets that Season Ticket Members have resold or transferred will be returned and dropped.
All single game tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be refunded within thirty days. If tickets were purchased through a resale marketplace, ticketholders should visit that marketplace’s website to review the site’s policies or contact the site’s customer service team for support.
Should the team allow fans into games this season, they also announced new guidelines, including:
- Wearing a face mask
- Social distancing
- Seating blocks
- Nobody in the first seven rows
- No cash
- No tailgating
- Temperature checks, signing waivers before entering
The Rams have also suggested that indeed there will be zero preseason games in 2020 and that the home debut at SoFi will be Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
