The Todd Gurley-Rams financial dispute is starting to get comical.
Gurley is so pissed that the Rams are keeping his $5.05 million in bonus money hostage, he is ghosting his former Rams’ teammates.
Gurley had to say this on The Uninterrupted podcast:
“I still ain’t got my money, so it’s really, forget the Rams right now. I don’t even care about them. I told my ex-teammates that they can’t even text me or call me until I get my money. As soon as I get my money, then I’ll be cool with everybody else.”
Talk about taking a stand.
The Rams cut the standout running back earlier this offseason and still owe him some bonus money from the contract he signed two years ago. He said on the podcast he has not been given an explanation by the team. Gurley has since signed with the Falcons.
Rams general manager Les Snead is on the record as saying Gurley and linebacker Clay Matthews will be paid their money. Matthews has filed a grievance against the team. There has been a report that Gurley won’t file a grievance against the Rams.
But it is clear he is losing his patience.
The Rams just need to pay these guys. They have the money. It’s just a bad look and could make players wary of signing with them in the future if they get a reputation for not paying their players on time.
