With the heavy lifting of the offseason done, oddsmakers don’t appear to be overly bullish on the L.A. Rams.

When the 2020 odds opened, our friends at DraftKings had the Rams’ win total at nine. After free agency and the draft, the number is now eight. So, the over/under on the Rams’ 2020 record starts at 8-8.

The Rams, of course, went 9-7 in 2019 after going 13-3 and playing in the Super Bowl in 2018.

L.A. lost several players in free agency this offseason, including linebackers Dante Fowler and Cory Littleton, they cut running back Todd Gurley, and traded receiver Brandin Cooks. They also didn’t have a first-round draft pick.

The oddsmakers have paid attention.

In addition to the win total shrinking, the Rams are 33-1 to win the Super Bowl and 16-1 to even go to Tampa for SBLV. They are 4-1 to win the NFC West. The 49ers are +115 to defend their division title, the Seahawks are +225 and the Cardinals are 7-1. Therefore, the Rams have the third lowest odds to win the NFC West.

Even though the NFC playoffs will expand from six to seven teams, DraftkKings don’t have the Rams as a favorite to make the playoffs. They’re a +150 underdog to make the playoffs and are -182 not to make the playoffs.

I wouldn’t expect the odds to change drastically either way until the season starts, depending on how the new-look Rams appear on the field.

If betting is your thing, and you feel strongly about this team, now may be the time to get some good odds.
