Getting to know Easop Winston

Undrafted free agent WR has a chance to make team

The Rams’ draft class ended up being a pretty good group after they turned five picks into nine and appeared to fill some holes even though they didn’t have a first-round pick.

There is a chance the class can get better. Among the reported undrafted free agents the Rams have signed is Easop Winston from Washington State.

He is considered one of the top undrafted free agents to sign in the league.

The Rams have a need to develop young receivers, even after taking Florida’s Van Jefferson in the second round. Winston had 85 catches for the Cougars as a senior. He averaged 11.4 yards per catch and had 11 touchdowns. As a junior, Winston had 52 catches and eight touchdowns.

The Northern California native – who went to Serra High, the same school as Tom Brady and Barry Bonds – played at San Francisco City College before going to Washington State.

He is 6 foot, 192 pounds and could become a solid possession receiver in the NFL. The Rams clearly wanted Winston. He will be a player to watch develop in training camp and in the preseason. Here is a highlight film of Winston in the meantime:
