The LA Rams drafted nine players and while one of them could be the fan favorite rookie, there are also 20 undrafted free agents to consider. For simplicity’s sake, I’m going to focus one the nine drafted players first.
Who was your favorite pick in the draft for football reasons?
RB Cam Akers
Pros: Has fantasy value, is the top Rams pick of the draft
Cons: Some felt he wasn’t a “need”
WR Van Jefferson
Pros: Has fantasy value, plays perhaps the most “fan favorite” position in the NFL because receivers probably have the most highlights of any position, including QB (I am making an assumption here), NFL dad
Cons: The word “van” has negative connotations
EDGE Terrell Lewis
Pros: Dante Fowler replacement? Wore those cool half-shirt Alabama jerseys to promote his abs
Cons: Injury risk, some people don’t like the “EDGE” designation because it’s not an acronym.
DB Terrell Burgess
Pros: Versatile, hard worker, potential round three steal. Tituss Burgess is the actor who has received four Emmy nominations for playing Titus Andromedon on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Cons: One career interception, one season as a full-time starter at Utah. Maybe you haven’t seen or don’t like Kimmy Schmidt.
TE Brycen Hopkins
Pros: Potential fantasy value at a premium position, NFL dad. Brycen rhymes with “Dyson,” the premium vacuum cleaner company in the world.
Cons: A common case of the drops in college. Vacuums suck.
S Jordan Fuller
Pros: Three-year starter on Ohio State defense that went 38-4. Who cares about that though: HIS UNCLE IS SINBAD! Fuller calls LA “a second home” because his brother played at UCLA. HIS UNCLE IS THE COMEDIAN SINBAD.
Cons: None
LB Clay Johnston
Pros: Dad is a longtime NFL strength and conditioning coach and was Brett Favre’s best man at his wedding.
Cons: His dad was Brett Favre’s best man
K Sam Sloman
Pros: All the quirky fun that comes with being a kicker, and “Sam Sloman” is such a great kicker’s name
Cons: All the nightmares that come with trying to love a kicker when you know they all suffer the same inevitable fate of eventually letting you down
G Tremayne Anchrum
Pros: He’s the sole hope in the draft class for the offensive line
