Rams’ draft: My perfect LA scenario

In my dream world, the needy Rams will load up in third round of the NFL draft

NFL Combine - Day 2

The Rams are on the clock in three days, waiting until the second round of the draft.

They have seven picks in total, two coming in the second round. With a lot of needs, the Rams need to get creative — so I present my perfect Rams’ draft.

This won’t be a full mock trade (that comes later). It’s just some key moves that would make this Rams’ draft a success.

No. 52:
Take the best pass rusher or tackle. Among those available could be pass rushers Josh Uche of Michigan, Boise State’s Curtis Weaver or Alabama’s Terrell Lewis. At tackle, the prospects could include Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland or Georgia’s Isaiah Wilson.

Trade No. 57 to Las Vegas to No. 81, No. 91:
The Rams keep their highest second-round pick and move the pick acquired in the Brandin Cooks trade for two third-round picks. That would give Rams four picks in the third round, No. 81, No. 84, No. 91 and No. 104.

They could pick off need positions in the third round, including running back, receiver and linebacker.

Conclusion:
The Rams would have five picks from No. 52-104. That would be good work for a team that started the offseason with just five draft picks overall.
