With draft preparations in the final stages, an interesting name hit the veteran open market on Monday when the Jacksonville Jaguars released wide receiver Marqise Lee.

It could be something the Rams consider.

The Rams need to add to receiver after the Brandin Cooks trade to Houston. Yes, it is a good receiver draft class, but the Rams have just six draft picks and other needs.

So, adding a veteran could be of interest. Lee could fit in well with this offense and be a decent short-term answer.

Lee, 28, has dealt with injury issues, however. He missed the entire 2018 season with a multiple knee injuries suffered in the preseason. His 2019 season was shortened by a shoulder injury. He had only three catches last season.

Still, he produced well in 2016 and ’17 when he was healthy.

Lee would likely not be explosive at all and while it may not be a huge impact addition, Lee could be have a role with the Rams if they want to pursue him. He would likely have the Rams at the top of his wish list.

Lee is from Los Angeles and played at USC, so returning to his home city could appeal to him.
