Rams sign former XFL kicker Austin MacGinnis

Apparently, it’s kicker day for the Rams.

Shortly after it was reported that the Rams signed former Canadian Football League kicker Lirim Hajrullahu,

The Rams announced they signed kicker Austin MacGinnis.

He kicked for the Dallas Renegades in the CFL this spring. MacGinnis, 24, was 10-for-10 in field-goal attempts this season. The Kentucky product kicked for Memphis in the now defunct AAF last year.

The Rams are looking for a replacement for Greg Zuerlein. He left in free agency to Dallas after spending the past eight seasons with the Rams.

So, Hajrullahu and MacGinnis will head to training camp to compete for to replace Zuerlein. The Rams could add a rookie or veteran as well.

But there is a good chance, Zuerlein will be replaced by someone who has never kicked in the NFL before.
