Early Friday morning, it was announced that Todd Gurley will be signing a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons, bringing the former UGA Bulldog back to the state of Georgia.
Todd Gurley has already landed home: The former #Rams star is signing a 1-year deal with the #Falcons, source says (as @Schultz_Report reported). Atlanta had some talks with the #Rams about trading for the former UGA RB before he was released.

The Rams chose to release Gurley on Thursday before a deadline that would have caused $10.5 million dollars to be guaranteed to the former All-Pro. In the end, the Rams parted ways with him before he ever got to play out any of that two-year, $60 million extension he signed just a couple of years ago.
According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons are only paying Gurley $6 million in 2020 while the Rams are still on the hook for $7.5 million. Regardless, the Rams were able to free up some minor cap space and have a little more breathing room going forward.
Last season, Gurley recorded a career-low in carries (223) and rushing yards (857) but still managed to score 12 touchdowns on the ground, good for his third-best mark of his career.
