Whitworth, who turned 38 in December, has spent the last three seasons as the left tackle for the Rams. He reshaped and fortified their offensive line in a way that no tackle had for the franchise since Orlando Pace and he’s shown a strong commitment towards the team during his three-year stint in Los Angeles. He is a four-time Pro Bowler with two first team All-Pro nods and he’s only missed one game over the last six years and three games over the last 11 seasons.
He spent the first 11 years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals after being the 55th overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft.
The Rams can now focus on the rest of their offensive line, which did have health and consistency issues at right tackle, guard, and center.
