The LA Rams waived linebacker Jachai Polite on Thursday, then re-signed him to the practice squad on Friday. Polite remains on the Rams, but taking his place is linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo on the 53-man roster. It is expected that Okoronkwo will return on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, his first game action since Week 5 against the Washington Footballs.

Okoronkwo, a fifth round pick in 2018, played in 10 games last season and recorded 1.5 sacks with four QB hits. He had eight tackles and one sack in five games prior to landing on injured reserve. Polite hadn’t played much on defense in his absence; Okoronkwo was in on a season-high 44% of the snaps against the New York Giants in Week 4.
The Rams are also expected to have recent waiver claim Derek Rivers on the 53-man roster against the Cardinals, though it is not clear yet if he will be activated. Sean McVay was hopeful that Sebastian Joseph-Day would be available, but he could not confirm.
Sebastian Joseph-Day didn’t practice again, but Sean McVay says he is hopeful and optimistic that he will play Sunday.

UPDATE: Rookie pass-rusher Terrell Lewis is out for a second straight game with a knee injury.
Sebastian Joseph Day (hip) is questionable for Sunday, and Terrell Lewis (knee) is out per McVay.
