This week, the folks at Pro Football Focus released their 2020 All-Pro teams through 12 weeks of the NFL season. Among them are a trio of Rams — one on the first team and two on the second team.
The Ram who graces the first team is none other than defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Here’s what author Sam Monson had to say about Donald’s play so far this season:
“Breaking news: Aaron Donald is very good at football. How good? Well, he leads the NFL with 66 total pressures, seven more than any other player at any position. Donald is the only primarily interior player we have seen lead the league in total pressures since 2006, and he has done it in three of the past four seasons, including this one. He is the best pass-rusher in football and continues to produce at this level despite the extra layers of attention and game-planning that go into reducing his impact. He is the gold standard at the position.”
The other two Rams players to be included were cornerback Darious Williams and safety John Johnson III.
Williams has compiled four interceptions and 13 pass breakups on the year while Johnson has 74 total tackles, one pick, and eight pass breakups. Both defensive backs have played big roles in making this unit one of the best in the league and both will continue to be relied on as the postseason nears.
