On Thursday afternoon, the Rams announced that they are placing middle linebacker Micah Kiser on IR with a knee injury he sustained late in Monday’s contest against the Bucs. The third-year player will be eligible to return after three weeks.
Kiser currently leads the Rams in tackles this season with 77. He’s also posted three pass breakups and a forced fumble with a lone quarterback hit.
Troy Reeder is expected to step in as the starter in Kiser’s place. Reeder had a phenomenal three-sack performance earlier this year, so the Rams aren’t too worried about playing without Kiser for a couple weeks. He’s also recorded a pair of tackles-for-loss and three more quarterback hits in 10 games played this season.
The Rams (7-3) are scheduled to host the 4-6 49ers this Sunday at SoFi Stadium, pitting the first and last place teams in the NFC West.
