The LA Rams are 3-1 and facing the 1-3 Washington Football Team on the road on Sunday. This is the Rams third west coast 10 AM road game of the season following a 37-19 win in Philadelphia and a 35-32 loss in Buffalo. LA went 2-0 in those situations in 2019.
The biggest equation in this game could be the quality of Football Team’s offense. Head coach Ron Rivera benched Dwayne Haskins this week for Kyle Allen but both players were among the NFL’s worst four starters of last season. Washington has declared star receiver Terry McLaurin as ready to go but there are few other players of note on the Football Team offense this season.
Washington’s high profile pass rusher and the number two overall pick in the draft, Chase Young, is questionable for Sunday’s contest. His presence is likely to have a significant impact on how the Rams offense performs against the number four defense in the NFL by DVOA. It could also be our only chance to ever see Young face off against Andrew Whitworth in their careers.
Believe it or not, Football Team has been better than any defense they’ve faced this season and the next best belongs to the Giants, which did not go well for Jared Goff or the Rams running backs. Can Washington’s defense keep their offense in the game?
The Rams are 7-point favorites.
