According to the folks over at BetOnline.ag, the Rams are currently 8.5-point favorites over the Washington Football Team ahead of their tilt on Sunday morning.

The big news came out earlier this week that WFT head coach Ron Rivera is making a switch at quarterback, with Kyle Allen now taking the reins from 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins, who has now been relegated to the bench. According to further reports, Alex Smith will serve as the backup to Allen on Sunday, meaning Haskins has dropped all the way to QB3 on the depth chart.

Aside from wide receiver Terry McLaurin, Washington’s offense doesn’t have a ton in the way of star power. Defensively, their strength is there defensive front that includes a handful of first-round picks and plenty of elite athleticism, including 2020 second-overall pick, Chase Young.

Apart from the Giants game, the Rams have shown one of the best combinations of offense and defense in the NFL. When they aren’t scoring a ton of points, the defense has helped limit opponent’s to even less, and vice versa.

While the Washington front will likely be good for a splash play or two, the Rams defense should have one of its’ better days against a QB making his first start of the season. I’d like to think Donald and Co. will be extra motivated to ruin his debut. Let’s also hope no one takes this NFC East squad too lightly.
